I find myself not listening to music much anymore whilst painting.
It's usually BBC radio 4 or BBC radio 4 extra nowadays

It's like listening to other peoples conversations around
you in a coffee shop.
There's great comedy, decent dramasn and current affairs programs.

Paul.

Bit disturbing that you like Musicals Kev, just saying...
Floyd I can accept. Your music collection sounds like everyone else's list of 'guilty pleasures'.

Musical choices would be blues or old rock n bands.
Rory Gallagher, The Who, Dr Feelgood, Rolling Stones, Cream, Pink Floyd, the Clash, The Jam, and modern indie bands like the kooks, the killers, kaiser chiefs, kasabian and so on. Because of Mp4 on my phone and listening on public transport, the radio is like a bit of meditation when I get home but I love all the comedy and drama, there's so much of it.

Mick...
I don't think you complained enough about Mrs B for plausibility, and I know you take being a Dad and Grandad seriously....
So, I reckon you love it !....
Being 'put upon' gives us all a reason to moan and look world weary and wise you know...keep it up buddy.

I used to listen to all sorts of music when sculpting/painting, but nowadays I love peace and quiet! I think because my job involves working with errant teenagers, I have noise and mayhem all day!!

My new den is our conservatory and it is great to just retreat into there away from the telly and look at the garden, especially in the summer(y)

Mostly Radio Nostalgie eu.. The 80's. Further I have my own list on Spotify and that is mostly Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, 60-70 and 80's music.
Years ago I had a great time with Blues most SRV. That will come back.

Marc?
Try the 'Delta Blues' singer Seasick Steve.

His first album was called:-
"I started out with nothing, and I still got most of it left".
Proper stuff.
Paul
he's on Youtube somewhere.

Mainly historical fiction covering all periods. Usually find that the level of historical research is excellent from reliable authors.
Also like 19th century 'noir' detective genre and every now and then something to intelligently lighten the mood like Terry Pratchett and Bill Bryson.

Check out the radio4 website mate
They re running a 4 year radio drama called Homefront
Each episode features real and fictional events wrapped around the date of broadcast, but from 100 years ago during WW1, and is all set in and around Folkestone. There are also omnibus episodes too.

There are also thousands of other things you may have missed.

Nothing, I can't concentrate on painting with music playing. Where I paint I can hear the tv if my wife is watching it but I can block it out..... and her. :playful:

Brilliant Roger.
You are the first one among us to claim and prove the ability to multitask.
I bet if she offers you a brew or an 'early night' from the other room whilst you are painting, you hear that ok!
