You are right John. The scabbard is not conventional and opens down almost the whole of its length at the back otherwise there would be no way you could put that style of sword in it., so suppose a slight bend could occur . I will straighten it though
The armour and style of dress is romanticised and more for court appearance ; I doubt he would have actually fought in it .
Excellent sculpt with amazing paint Ron. There is nothing from your brushes that I do not like here. I know that we "old farts" tend toward a shelf full of part completes but this was well worth finishing. Beautiful work Mate, very well done Keith
Cheers Brian .
I did approach the metals in a different way than my usual taking some aspects of Cartacci method by polishing the bare metal ; then painting on a blue black oil base straight onto the bare metal
and the lifting off as much as poss re Ron clark style . The golds were done in a similar fashion straight onto the bare casting and when dry I went over with warm sepia and done
the lift off procedure as for the metal plate .
All a bit tricky as you have to make sure the primer stays off the parts , but it does keep the detail very sharp.
Andrew this figure was from Dels grey army probably from one of the early castings as he likes to buy stuff from fresh moulds , so was super crisp in detail which made it a joy to paint.
