Apologise for the quality of the photos, no so good as i wanted.
The two figures were sculpted by :
Nino PIZZICHEMI
The trench by :
Darek ZWIERZYNSKI
All were painted by :
Günther STERBERG
Just one or two things, i think TOMMY made a mistakewhen boxing the Captain, the P.E parts are for the Sergeant. Nobody perfect;)
Tommy change their shipping package, i received everything in a good box extremely well protected, thanks for that.
Now, it's up to you, make your own opinion:sneaky:

It is correct - I included a photo etch sling for the captain should the modeller wish to include one. The Sergeant is sculpted with a rifle sling already in place, so he doesn't need one.

I do keep getting asked about this, I should have made it clear.

But I am still far from perfect! lol

Thank you for a great review, I really appreciate your kind comments. I am looking forward to bringing some great new figures in July!

I saw these at the recent BMSS show in London, they really are fabulous little pieces and beautifully sculpted,I was thinking a good idea would be to buy a few trench sections and put them all together to make one large trench section,I hav'nt painted any of these figures but I love looking at them,I read yesterday that Darren will be having some interesting pieces on show at euro this year on his stand,I will look forward to seeing these,IMO the best WW1 stuff on the market :)

Just received my 3 on Monday! Very nice! I too was wondering about the PE. Thanks for the clarification Darren.

An observation. The German helmet on top of the trench is 1916 vintage.Im almost sure that in 1915 the Germans still had
the pickelhaube type helmet.I hope Im wrong and somebody will correct.Apart from this a superbly sculpted composition of
both figures and setting.Tommys War is great.

According to my research the issue of steel helmets to German troops started on the Western Front in December 1915. So surely it was a rare item in 1915.

There is a pickelhaube helmet included in the kit as well as the steel helmets; take a look at Marc's photos.

The steel helmet was not introduced until 1916, before that the pickelhaube would have been worn. There is a whole section devoted to development of the German helmet in the Tommy's War A4 four page colour newsletter which is included for free with all orders.

The kit contains both a pickelhaube and a later steel helmet, this allows the modeller to build a pre-1916 trench section or a post-1916 variant.

The box art shows the steel helmet because the pickelhaube was specially sculpted for this section and was not available at the time that we began the box art.
