Looks very interesting and promising.
I really liked the bust of Gustavous Adolphus (Gustav II Adolf).
Perhaps so much that Im now and then considering to buy me another one.

Thanks for all your comments, and thank you for stopping by to take a look! (y)

I have posted a triptych of the three main iconographic "sources" used in this project. These were used in conjunction with images of the "mummified" head (three sides), as well as a PS-altered image of the alleged death mask.

Thanks again. And thank you, Janne, for your kind comments. That bust is one of my all-time favourites. It was a delight to research, and I am especially proud of the way the lace turned out.

PS--Hmm. . . might have to tackle Gustav Vasa next. . . ;)

The subject of this project has undergone "reconstructive surgery", and all is now as it should be. . .

PHASE 1 of the sculpture is now complete. I hope you will join us for PHASE 2 and the completion of the project. Within a fortnight of the completion of the sculpture, I will conduct a step-by-step painting (oils) presentation.

Again, thank you and the planetFigure staff for allowing me to share this with you,

PS--I have decided that I will complete the trilogy of great Swedish kings, and embark on my rendition of Gustav Vasa before year's end. That will give me enough time "clear the slate" as it were, but more importantly, do the background research and gather my references. A~

Yes!!! :)

Let me know if I can help you anyway.

Hi Augie,
Just saw this thread and wanted to comment.
That's a very unique looking piece. I'm not familiar with the subject (not a serious history buff) but you've nicely captured the look of the figure in the paintings. And the face definitely looks "young". I really like it.
Interesting thing, with the the hair style plus the lack of uniform, this could easily represent a modern youth. Could make for some interesting options for painting his clothing. Just my thoughts :) .
Thanks for sharing it.
