Hello, friends of the brush!

Haven't shown anything here for a long time.
Well, today I have some finished photos of Katya, the special ops chick from Studio McVey. I recently finished her for a friend and tried to recreate the studio paint job, as close as I could. It was a good practice for me. Oh, she is in 28mm scale, which makes her quite tiny.
I also modified her a little bit, by scratching a small optical visor for her, which I had in mind, the moment I first saw her.

Here are some w.i.p. images of the unpainted model:

And for size comparison, the visor.

Now I need to build a second visor, for me own Katya.

Thanks for looking.

This is quite cool :)

I think you missed an opportunity to take it a step further to add motion to it and actually suspend her in the air, just mounted on the rope ( reinforced of course).

Dirk, thanks for posting this great rendition of a lovely figure. I bought this at Euro 2012 from the Studio McVey stand. It is miles outside my comfort zone but I will give it a bash very soon.
I love the optical visor addition you have scratchbuilt really adds to the overall effect.
Thanks once again for sharing.

Thank you for your comment, Gaudin. Well, this was the sculptors initial concept. To make her look, like she just touched the ground, hanging from that rope. So I did not change that idea.
Another idea would have been, to put up some kind of helicopter, only held in place by the robe, abover her. ;-)

Dirk

Customer is the boss:) You could just do the rails and section of helicopter frame, may be a minigunner too :D sh*t I am getting carried away :)

Cool concept anyway

Very nice! I have some of Studio McVey figures and they are amazing. You certainly did Katya justice, and the addition of night vision goggles is great!

Very very nice f8igure and love the pose.
Saw Studio Mcvey at Euro and although much to small for me to paint I think they are just fantastic. The sculpting is a work of art in its own right, check the optivisor, and painting is super. Also very good display and nice peop0le to talk to.
