KGV from El Taller. painted in oils and using the supplied lead strip for the reins.
My first foray into 54mm and my first mounted figure as well. Hope the reins make sense.. Anyway, on to the pics. Thanks for looking and hope you like him. Comments very welcome.

El Taller produces great mounted figures. Perhaps in a similar manner to Henkm cutting either the foil provided or using the foil from wine bottles, (though less likely to get foil these days) can be difficult to get the reins fine enough. However, I once bought pre cut reins, cannot remember them manufacturer, but they just curled up when you cut them out off the frame holding them, so back to foil.
Hope El Taller finds a British supplier soon.
Once I get through my current batch of figures, could be tempted to get King George V and place him with some of his Indian Army soldiers.

Thanks lightbob. I understand some others use paper for the reins and are very happy with their results.

There was a post here a few weeks ago about 'foil' reins...it was mentioned that a good
source was those cleaned up tubes of the tomato paste used sometimes for bolognese
sauce. Years ago toothpaste tubes were the thing but they seemed to have disappeared
today.

Thanks Nap. Nothing wrong with 54mm. May be looking for more in the future. I'm still in the 'try everything and keep the good' mode.
