KINGS X was founded in 1985 in the Alamo Heights neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas. In 1992, KINGS X was invited to be one of a select group of upmarket shops that would occupy a new retail area in the recently renovated Menger Hotel located in the heart of San Antonio's historic Alamo Plaza.

In January 2006 KINGS X was acquired by King & Country, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of all-metal, hand-painted military miniatures and fighting vehicles. Since then KINGS X has more than doubled the series and ranges of toy soldiers and military miniatures on display and in stock.

I was just there last month and picked up a very nice vignette in their Imperial China series. It's a very nice shop and I've liked the King & Country stuff ever since I first saw their shop in Pacific Place when living in Hong Kong back in the late 80s/early 90s.

I'm about 4 hours from S.A. Unfortunately, I don't get out that direction very often. Most of my model horse shows are in the DFW area. But if I do go that way, I definitely want to check it out.
