Introduction

Metal Modeles is a familiar figure company especially for all the Napoleonic era fans. This was not my first Metal Modeles figure but it was my first mounted figure of this company. I was really interested in trying this new mounted figure, so as soon as I saw this new release I knew that it was time to make the first step and give it a try.
So I entered their site and placed my order. I have to admit that I received my figure fairly quickly and that's always a good thing for every buyer. If there is something amazing about Metal Modeles then that's their variety in Napoleonic era figures at 54mm that will certainly satisfy everyone.

Historical Notes

The Chasseurs are an historical re-enactment light cavalry unit that recreate the cavalry of the Napoleonic period, both as French and as British.
The French unit is Le Premier Régiment de Chasseurs à Cheval de la Ligne, which is line light cavalry. The British units are the 18th Light Dragoons/ 18th Hussars (this unit converted to Hussars in 1808) or the 3rd Dragoons.
Members of the unit can fight mounted or dismounted as all troopers carry carbines as well as sabres, and there is a dismounted troop for those who do not wish to ride.

Quality and Detail

As soon as I opened the green box I was really impressed by the white metal quality which is very high, and the casting is in pretty high level . There are some fine mold lines to clean but that's not the problem at all. As always Metal Modeles quality rewards the buyer.
Sculpted Detail is crisp and clear but delicate also . All parts are nicely detailed and the thin figure will ask for careful painting to have a nice result with the proper degradation in all shadows and highlights.

Painting

This one is a medium difficulty figure for painting but an experienced brush will be needed for the horse in order to show the full details of it. The Chasseur which is also detailed will look excellent with a careful painted.
This figure is my next project on the bench so everyone stay tuned.

Conclusion

In case you are not familiar with Metal Modeles, do not hesitate to give it a try! The companydedicated to the soldiers of Napoleon’s "Grande Armée", the brave "grognards" of the Empire battlefields. Another essential series, the Great War, recalls the World War One combatants uniforms of the allied and central powers armies. The Second Empire, the French Foreign Legion busts and the semi-round figures complete our historical tin soldiers collections.

Highly Recommended
