I've measured out a musket and a figure using kitspy, when I go to print them up the musket comes out being taller than the figure. The figure is supposed to represent a man 5'9" and the musket is just over 5'. I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.~Gary

Gordy , I too had some trouble when using the calculator.I'm sure it's my fault and nothing else. Even though this might sound daft , but is there a particular way to go about it?

1)Plug in the size of the real life item in the original field and make sure the appropriate measurement is set (feet, inches, centimeters) ***

2)set the desired scale (default is set at 1/32)

3)drop down the box next to resulting scale to desired unit of measurement (inches, feet, centimeters)

4)click on "Calculate Scale"

your scaled dimension will appear next to "Resulting Size"

*** make sure fractions are converted to wholes for example:

5 feet 9 inches would need to be entered as 69 inches and not 6.9 feet

anymore questions feel free to ask :)

Here's what I'm looking at.

I want the following items in 1/6 scale

Man 5'9"
Musket 60-1/4"

I've tried this several different ways and the musket always comes out larger than the figure.

Gary, I don't know what you did. I got 11 1/2" for the guy and 10" and change for the musket.

Could you possibly be entering 59 for 5'9" instead of 69?

John, Thanks for taking the time to calculate it on your own. I figured out what the problem was. My printer would only print out the image as large as I could without doing a second page. So I cut the images in half and print each on a separate piec, now I have the size I need. Man 1/6 scale is BIG!~Gary
