does anyone know where I can get a kneeling soldier in 120mm scale that I can convert to a british soldier serving in northern Ireland in the seventies

can anyone help me find the kneeling figure of an infantryman wearing beret, flack jacket, and armed with an slr rifle.would be suitable for a northern Ireland scene. it was made in the nineties by a Canadian company called new world order,or new world miniatures,or something similar. someone has one or knows where I can get one,so please fellow modellers, help me find one. thank you/badger

Hi Badger,

It's "New Order Model Designs" and good luck with finding one, i've been on the hunt for their figures and weapon sets for years..

Regards Ian

thank you, I saw one at a model show in Scotland about 4 years ago and didn't buy it, I think it was only sixteen pounds?, why didn't I buy it.complete madness. so now the search goes on. not just for that figure but for any 120mm/1.16th scale figure that is kneeling and suitable to convert to a british soldier serving in northern Ireland in the seventies./badger

I think many of us have been there Badger! In my case it was the S&T 120 mms at the Nationals in Telford in 2007-08, I didn't buy them because I thought I could pick them up any time, then suddenly they went OOP and were like gold dust. Have managed to buy/get in trade most of the ones I wanted since, but it's taken years. Good luck with your search - you'll probably find one when you've given up and are no longer looking. It happens like that sometimes.

Hi Badger,

I believe the catalogue number and description was: P001 British Paratrooper, N.I. Belfast..

If you acquire one can you upload a picture of the box art for my records as i am also looking for this figure?

Regards Ian

I would also have a word with Jackie from Foxwood Figures..

I believed they acquired two "modern" British Soldier figures from the Firing Line range and one is in the kneeling pose.

Not sure if they are from the 70-80's with SLR's or mid 80-90's with SA80 but it's worth a shot..

Ian
