Hi there ^_^

This is my first scratchbuilt bust, made essentially with Sculpey. The happy fella's name is Kratos, hero of the Playstation 2 game God of War.

Kratos is a spartan warrior who gave his soul to Ares, the God of War. Ares manipulated Kratos to turn him into an invincible human being that would help to the destruction of Athens... Click HERE for an extended article over God Of War on Wikipedia!

Your comments are welcome ;)

Yo, Q.! I plan to put together a flyer of some sort, according to your advice :)

The model is based on Osprey Men at Arms n°666 - "Excessively Cruel and Violent Icons of the Imaginary Antic Greece" from I. B. Makindisup :p

Thanks Maurizio!

Is that the one illustrated by Frank Zappa? I'll check it out.

Thanks, P. (y)

That's one mean looking dude! Not someone I would want to cross paths with..... . Well done Patrick. Nice job on the somewhat ghastly fleshtones ;)

Patrick,
cool stuff! Well sculpted and well painted. A very interesting piece. That chain is very convincing.

I'll definitely have to keep my eye out for that Osprey title as well. ;)

Q.: That's it, that's the one! Don't miss the foreword, it's written by Hieronymus Bosch :D

Jim: the skintone is so bleak because he rubbed his body with the ashes of his deceased wife and kid, killed by Ares (no wonder he's vengeful...)

Jay: the chain is real, it comes from a boat kit :)

thx guys (y)

Obviously it was not enough that you're an oustanding painter, but you know your way around with sculpting too. Again, fantastic work, Patrick.

BTW our club meets next Tuesday evening at 8 hours. Feel free to drop by if you're interested.

Best regards.

Johan

Patrick - Fine sculpting! I'm not much into Playstation or the Greek God of War, etc., but I can recognize good musculature, an excellent likeness in the face, and talent! I should be so lucky! My only quibble is his skin. Is it lighting or did you intend him to be pale? He looks tan, hale and hearty in the picture.

All the best,
Dan

Hello Patrick,

I don`t know anything about the playstation, or this game and I´m also not familiar with this "God of War", but your bust is sculpted very well !!!

I´m looking forward to see more of your works.

Cheers,
Markus

Thank you all for the motivating feedback! ^_^

Dan: Actually, Kratos stained his skin with the ashes of his deceased wife and kid, hence the pale grey skin. On this picture (careful, it's huge), you can see the pale, greyish complexion. The illustration on my first post is somewhat altered because of the fiery lighting, so the colors are a bit warmer and more natural.
