Very fine sculpt - but with a small mistake...:

The eagle you sculpted is the model of the Wehrmacht.

Meyer was an SS-Officer and the eagle the SS used (in the picture above!), was differed from that who was carried by the Wehrmacht...:

Thank you for your attentiveness. Before starting work, I carefully study the information. Look at photos.

hello
good start.
the eagles shown here are the breat emblem of the wehrmacht and the sleeve emblem of the SS.on cap the eagles whre quite the same.
even if variations in many shapes and materials did occure.
Meyer was not an Tank Commander he did command like Peiper the Infantrie units of the tank Division.he did command an Aufklärungsabteilung.so the weapon colour on shoulder boards may have been yellow.
again here is documentation shacky.

He looks to be wearing either a model '38 or '43 'crusher' field cap. Robin Lumsden cites many examples of SS personnel 'mixing' insignia on headgear due to wartime shortages at a local (field supply) level. The photo suggests he is sporting the old, Prussian style death's head instead of the issued 1934-pattern Totenkopf. Take a look at Lumsden's photobook "SS Regalia"pp88-89.

Nice one Igor,, Following

The cap would be a 38 by the fact this is winter 42/43. this cap is meyers trademark in photos of the early period of the war

Stu

Sorry for the incorrect translation. Of course Meyer is not a tank commander, and battalion. The first photo shows that the eagle is used with shoulder patches. Such departures from the shape characteristic of the German officers. The second photo is dated 1943 year. Probably made in the battles for Kharkov.
