Many thanks CarlVery impressive Brian.
Many thanks john for your kind comments mateBrian
Just to say that in my view this is - and will become more and more - a stunning piece of work. The romance of this period is the origin of much of its appeal and your model captures it perfectly.
John
Cheers Davie, thanks for those kind words mate, good to hear from you, hope your keeping well and painting plentyThis is looking superb mate, I always find your work very original and inspirational.
Cheers Davie
Just been catching up on Brian's thread. Some interesting information coming to light, but most of all, IMHO some of the best modelling skills on show here and that is before the painting starts. It has already been said previously that when finished "this will be a talking point for a long time to come" and "one of the most anticipated pieces of the year". Can't agree more, so looking forward to looking at this when done but in the meantime enjoying the work that Brian is putting in to this, his effortst have certainly got me even more keener on this hobby of ours than I ever was before.
Cheers mate,
Barrie.
I just added these group photos so I can finalise the finished piece, these positions may change somewhat as I progress through the project, its just an excersise to get a feel for the finished piece.

Hi Kev,it would look great with legs but I'm not that great a sculptor so I'll settle for busts mateHey ..hang on a moment there are no legs ...anywhere ...Yeh hah Busterama Brian strikes again ...thank goodness
Great stuff mste

When you go about photographing the final work, it would look pretty impressive if you could capture the busts protruding from smoke at the waistline. Lots of gun smoke at Waterloo although it would not have hung low like London fog. Just an idea.
Colin
Hi Colin,I will take your points on board mate, thanks for the input mateAnd a field as a backdrop. I have seen this cleverly done with dioramas- a fellow takes them out in the field and gets a natural looking blurred background
Cheers Keith,it's not the final composition but I keep checking it anywayTerrific progress Brian.
Your angles of these fellows to each other is absolute perfection.
Beautiful composition Mate.....and still more to come
