Having completed the Dr Watson bust I was working on his companion, but not really 'getting it' so I plucked this one from the primed pot instead :p

I was bought this for a birthday a couple of years ago, but after priming she's really just waited around on the shelf of shame. Made by Robot Rocket Miniatures and cast in pale grey resin. She's a one piece casting about 1/12 and very nicely done too. I'd already printed off a few Batik patterns that I liked the look of (and could possibly paint!) so with a quick dust off I was up and running . . .

Lovely face to paint with so much character I had it mapped out pretty quickly and then spent a lot of time making small adjustments using glazes in different areas (most noticeably purple and blue around the eyes and orange in the shadows and cheeks as well as the more expected blues under the chin and red on the ears and nose)

Not much else really to add apart from this was mainly painted using the new Scale 75 tube paints apart from a couple of dashes of Vallejo here and there.

Hope you like her as much as I do (although I have spotted a couple of bits I need to touch up)
Cheers
Paul

I do like this. What a lovely subject and a nice departure from the usual military stuff. Excellent job Paul(y)

Many thanks all. It's great bust which as Phil says makes a nice departure from the usual military stuff.

Robot Rocket also do some nice animal pieces which I really quite fancy and have just released a Siamese fighting fish (Yes really!) so they are worth keeping an eye on.

Cheers

So realistic it would easily pass for a photo of a real person.( Except she has no arms!) :)
Bravo Paul.

Hi Paul

Proud of you mate ...a cracking job , like the patterns and the textures on the turban

What mixes did you use for the flesh ...really like it

Thanks for sharing

Do think about entering something into FOTM as well

Happy benchtime

You have out done yourself this time Paul, how are you going to better this one. Superb flesh tone's and subtle shade and highlight.
Up amongst your best mate.

:p yes lack of arms is a bit of a giveaway Bill. (I prefer busts to have the tops of arms really, but this one was so nice . . . .
Glad you like it anyway mate

Cheers Kev -glad you like it :)
I'll add a pic of the colours used for you later, but the basic colour is S75 Pink flesh with Vallejo Orange brown and light flesh. I used a few others for shadows and glazes that I'll need to check

(I'll probably add this one to the FOTM comp for you)

I almost didn't open this because I was expecting a near-naked pneumatic asian amazon, but what a pleasant surprise!
Beautifully done indeed!

:ROFLMAO::rolleyes:
Made me smile because I'll sometimes see a title and not bother checking the thread for the same reason.
Glad you found it a nice surprise

Cheers Bob. :)
Sometimes a subject just appeals. It took me a long time to get around to painting this and I'm already thinking of a couple of variations which would be nice . . .

Cheers for now
Paul
