Hi everyone,

I just finished working on the Germanic Warrior bust by Latorre for Heroes & Villains.

My version of this popular bust depicts a Germanic warrior enjoying the warmth of a bonfire the night before the Battle of Teutoburg Forest (9 A.D.)
Acrylic paint all over, base by Pete´s Bases, painted by me, also in acrylics (I did use the Vallejo Orange Fluo for the first time here).
Let me know what you think and, as always, all pieces of advice will be more than welcome.

Thanks again for all the feedback, it was a risky project so I am glad you like the results.

Beautiful work:eek:
The efect of fire in the night is amazing:eek:
Wath color did you use?

Answering your question, Fabricio_Fay, I like limiting my palette to a few colours. For this project I used two different palettes though: the warm one and the cold one.

Between the both there is what could be called the "transition colour" which in this case would be Royal Purple.

The cold Palette: Ultramarin blue and Sky blue.

Warm Palette: Scarlet Red, Orange, Yellow (and sometimes Pale Yellow), Red Brown.

Then I also use white, grey and black to de-saturate and lighten/darken the colours all the time, all over the piece.

For the base I used the "Warm Palette" plus Vallejo Orange Fluo to give that kind of pure fire effect.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!
