Hi ,

This is a lovely sculpt , one of the best by Andrea IMO , love the way the colours are so striking ...nice subtle whites and great facing colours .

Fleshwork is really understated but so lifelike ...as Colin says "almost smokey"

Thanks for sharing

I agree, very nice! This figure shows a nice restraint in the painting style. It is so different from the seemingly reflexive over-painting that has become fashionable in recent years. Notice how the white actually LOOKS like white? When was the last time you saw that? (y)

This is nice , flesh tones are superb and not over done ,great all round Constantine (y)

Some thoughts on the base. A much darker wood or even black would make the figure pop quite a bit ,slightly taller and reduced width would draw even more attention to the bust . "very minor points" ;)

Along with many others, I imagine, I'd be interested to learn how to use Tempera on figures. For example, what 'support ' do the paints need; in other words, is an acrylic spray undercoat sufficient? And is it necessary to apply a varnish after painting?

Hi, Jeff.
Yes, I use as a primer acrylic spray. The varnish after painting I do not use.
