This is a beautiful figure produced by the defunct Fort Dquesne, sculpted by the talented hands of Steve Harrison, the original box art was painted by Joe Hudson.

For a truly colorful and deadly "Soldier of fortune" of the 15th-16th century. Fighting in many of Europes armies, they gained a reputation for ruthlessness on the field of battle. This reputation meant that they would always be a desired portion of any winning army. Henry the VII was no different and had many representatives of this "army for hire" under his influence. This figure depicts a drummer of his army at the Battle of Mondidier, France in the Winter of 1553.

So far I have just finished painting the trousers, vest and the blanket.

My formula for painting the brown blanket
Base= Mars brown.
Medium shadows= Brown Madder Alizzarin.
Deep shadows= medium shadows + Purple.
Medium highlight= Mars yellow.
extreme highlights= Naples yellow.

The hat has been undercoated in acrylics and will be painted next.

Cheers
Roc.

That's some fast and excellent work there Roc. I really like the blanket and thanks for the formula. What scale is that? Why do i see a very short body and long legs? hehehehe

Rocco,

That Landsknecht is really coming nice. How do you manage the striping, (yes a steady hand :) )free handed, drawing in before painting??
Thanks for the mix, i needed something like this for a figure.
Keep posting, i like this fellow. (y)

Roc, very nice painting so far.
I don't want to take away from that fact, but this guy has to be pretty damn proud of that "package"! Do you think you could possibly paint some broad red and white stripes across it to make it stand out some more? Just a suggestion!

Xenefon, Thanks for the kind words, I always appreciate it.
The figure is a 70mm. and the casting is excellent, hardly any clean up.

Great subject and excellent work so far, Roc. I'll be following your progress as usual.

I think its time you posted a few pix from your antique codpiece collection so Jay and Eddy can get some historical perspective. ;)

Ciao Stefano, thank you for the kind words, coming from an artist of your caliber is truly a compliment and I appreciate it very much.

I would love to see you sculpt a Landsknecht, that would be a work of art and maybe you can do an article, which I will translate for our friends in the Planet.

Ciao

Hello Pat, Thanks, I'm glad you like it so far, I have a long way to go.

About my prized cod piece collection, I would love to post some pictures but I think my wife hid the box, she got tired of seeing me show them off :lol
