Just Bought! Latest acquisition section?

So what we're talking about here is reviewing the kits or subjects on an individual basis and eliminating the review forum. I think that might be a good idea; but speaking from a personal standpoint; I am a dumb ass when it comes to photography and it's not something I care enough about to learn. So that being said, I am totally content with the reviews that are provided by Nap and others and I sometimes PM a member who posts a piece that I am interested in regarding their thoughts...........So my opinion on a so called "New acquisition category"........I really don't give two ***** about what anyone is buying or what they think. I buy what I like and I do my own research. But I also think it's good to throw out creative ideas and thoughts...............Good thought Grasshopper (I used to practice Kung Fool)

The idea was for members to just post their latest purchase and why they did so .....NOT to do a Review in any form as we have a section dedicated

Am trying to be polite..the two ***** comment suggests others don’t much care..so, just leave it..your reviews are fine..I have material difficulties with the self promotional things and had thought something showing what people actually lay their money down for might be useful..but just forget it..

My opinion only applies to me;...so no need to be polite. An honest opinion will be respected more than BS.... Unfortunately.. it may not be liked as much.........................Thanks for your input John.

One of the benefits of a ‘latest acquisition’ section is that many people buy figures, kits, tools, paints etc that may not feature in a WIP for some time. The good old Grey Army can sit on shelves for some time. By mentioning a new acquisition it would make it possible for someone also thinking of getting the same item to ask questions or opinions well before that item reaches the bench. It can also highlight something that you were not aware of but could be of interest.

Reviews are something totally different. In the latest acquisition section, it could be a simple one line with a snap shot (or not).

Agree this would be a good idea - useful to modellers and manufacturers both.

I think it’s public that I like reviews to be independent.as for the latest purchase, it’s another way to show what’s on the bench, attracting our attention beyond reading the new product headings, and see things we might not otherwise notice and maybe find others with similar themes of interest...and another perspective from that of formal review..its not about high fives and wonderful brushwork..just clinical..here what I just bought. And someone could then reach out offline maybe and ask more opinions
