Here's a figure i just finished this morning ,but as usual after you take photographs there's always something you spot and needs fine tuning.
Brian

I like him a lot Brian. What scale, company makes this figure? Beautiful metallics too.

Xenofon

Hi Xenofon
He's by Andrea and he's 90mm .Tha kit must be at least 10 years old but still in production
Brian

What about Pedro, Raul or Juanito [not sure if spelled right]

Nice figure mate, wonderful painting as usual ... 90s are your fote eh ... I am also in search of it, though I know it is still in production I would prefer to get hold of an oldy hopefully casting quality will be better ... will I see it in 'flesh' in September? How is the fit is it problematic keeping track that it is know a vintage casting ... PROSIT again! Nice colour for the pants is it based on Cad. Orange perhaps?

Ivan

PS - you are mastering the digicam know you need some lessons in Photoshop to route and creatr backgrounds ala Luca

Hi Brian,

I do really like the metal parts (y)

Would you please share your metal effect mix????

I have an idea for a name : use the Robert DeNiro name in the excellent 1986's movie "The Mission" ........ Mercenary Mendoza !!

JP

I got this figure from Historex agents and the casting quality was excellent as was the fit of parts,no filler needed.
Ivan ,i used humbrol 100 as an undercoat which is a browny red colour, the oils were madder brown, tit white and raw umber.
"Hernando Cortes" will be at Euro
Brian

Really nicely painted Brian...the soft tones on the clothing is lovely stuff...but the metals are a knockout mate.
Very good progress with the camera too..!!

All the best..Roy.

Hi Ivanitch
I've just finished reading a book of the Spanish Conquests written by Bernal Diaz who served under Cortes. There's a passage in the book where Cortes slips in the mud and looses one of his sandals while on a long trek, and there's other instances in the book where Cortes wouldn't have looked much different than his bedraggled band of adventurers

looks great, I have to admit that when I saw you were looking for it I really didn't expect such a old model to come up looking so good.
Apart from the obviously brilliant paint job did you enhance it in any other way?

As to a name how about - Don Hijo del Matthew ????????

Derek

Brian,
fantastic work! The metals are fantastic, and I too like the muted colors. As for a name I've always been partial to Alfonso, or maybe Eugene. What do you think? ;)

Hi Derek & Jay
Thanks for your input, but after reading the afore mentioned book, i reckon i'll call him Hernando Cortez, but as i'll not be buying nameplates for some time yet, that may change.
He's bog standard Derek and to the age of the figure i first saw him when Pete was painting him at the club. Now that's old!!!
