Sam, Antonio and Carl ... many thanks :)

Ron ... Thank you and its Halfords Grey Primer :)

Jay, Carmine and Taesung .... again many thanks :)

John, David and Marc ... Thanks again :)

Stephen and Todd .. Thank you! :)

Brian ... Cheers and it was Stu who spotted this and suggested I might like it... He was very right! Lol! :)

Giovanni, Christos, Ken and Stu .... Again Thanks guys :)

The face is now finished ( probably, i'm always willing to go back to a face if I think there's a problem so finished is a relative thing.:confused: ) and next will be finishing the chin strap and doing the helmet :)

Colour shout outs for the face are ...

Base .. AV Mahogany Sand
Mid ... GW Dwarf Flesh
High .. AV Basic Skin Tone
Highest AV Light Flesh

I then added the effects colours as normal So AV Dk Prussian Blue for cool parts and GW Blood Red for hot bits :)

I then re worked the skin colours with

Mid ... GW Dwarf Flesh
High .. GW Elf Flesh ( this is a touch pinker than the Vallejo Basic Skin )
Highest AV Light Flesh

I kept adding tiny amounts of the effects colours as required ...

All hair is
Base ... AV Burnt Umber
Mid .... AV English Uniform
High ... AV Yellow Ochre ( with a bit lightened with AV Light Flesh to get a higher light for the beardy flecks and the eyebrows )

Piccies!

:)

And extreme close up ... The dark dot is a tiny pin hole on the lower lid :(

Re: LB Miniatures Fallschirmjager Bust

After much Umming and Ahhing I decided to do the helmet as if it had been oversprayed with tankers colours
ie. dark yellow, green and red brown.
I used Maskol and a bit of pan scrubber for the chipping and various dilutions of Vallejo smoke to add some streaks and staining, graphite for the edging for visual interest :)

Re: LB Miniatures Fallschirmjager Bust

I am amazed at the leaps and bounds you have made with acrylics Mark, doesn't get much better than this, well not till your next one anyway ;)

Re: LB Miniatures Fallschirmjager Bust

Dennis, Grant and Pedro ... Many thanks guys :)

Vaux ... Thanks :)

Steve, Ken, Ron, Carl and Adrian ... Thanks again guys :)

Been tinkering away at this, Tunic is

Base ... AV German Grey
Mid ..... AV Luftwaffe Uniform WW2
High .... Mid with AV LightFlesh 1:1

Shirt and Bandoleer

Base ... AV German Grey
Mid ..... AV Field Blue
High .... Mid with AV LightFlesh 1:1

The scarf is the same colours as the tunic but I over-glazed with lots of thin layers of White ....

The spare barrel container was undercoated with black and the trusty Maskol and pan scrubber were deployed to mask out heavy wear areas and general chipping...

Then I painted it with AV Green Ochre.
Shaded with AV Smoke
High was the ochre with a dot of Light Flesh added..

After blasting it with a hair dryer to ensure it was really dry I rubbed over the Maskol with a bit of blu-tac ... I will use a bit of graphite later to just add a bit of visual interest to the black :)

Re: LB Miniatures Fallschirmjager Bust

Faultless painting Mark, it was a pleasure to see this bust at Telford, the flesh tones are amazing.

All the best
