Very nice work Kaz.
I have my doubt about the color of the uniform. They call it horizon blue. As far as I can see on this screen it is more a greyish blue. And the Adrian helmet has less blue then on the pictures.

The skincolor and eyes are perfect.

Thank you very much for your advice, Marc! Thanks for sharing resources Roger, and Parison! and Thanks for comments, Ronald!

While I was painting I used this photo as a reference.

Thanks for followup comment Roger I agreed there are many different shades of blue. That's the interesting but at the same time, also the difficult point.

Even so, we have typical image of French uniform so I will try to find a sweet spot somehow.

In deference to Marc's opinion, I agreed at some point Marc is right so I added some dark blue filters on helmet and light blue filters on uniform. Changes are very subtle so maybe no one notice the differences but If I add big changes in most cases I ruin my whole work so I applied additional brushes with great care. It looks light blue to my real eyes, but controlling white balance and color on camera is a little bit challenge to me. (maybe blue-back is not good for this subject)

Thanks Parison I'm really glad to hear such a nice compliment from you who sculpted this wonderful piece.

it look like me
LOL!

I like the Adrian more, for me it's closer to the reality.
About the Horizon Blue: there are indeed some influence's of the weather and the quality of the ink in those days.
But in my humble opinion i think that blue-black doesn't work as you pointed out.
Again: great, work and I have my doubt's if I can get close to your painted figure.

I appreciate all of your comments, I will try to improve my skill more.

Thanks Maurizio for your comment on my little bit old thread :)
This is the first time I've been satisfied with my skintone and I feel like I found my style to go from this model.
