You just can't beat Adriano Laruccia's Roman sculpts.
Your painting and presentation have done it the full justice it deserves.

Cheers,

Work like this can only be rated as a masterpiece. I would love it to see a specific "forum" here on PF where "masters" like Macca could post a SBS to reveal the techniques which they used to paint their posted figure.
It would be most helpfull for amateurs like me.
All in favour say "aye"

Great job Macca (y).

Sounds great in theory - except who gets to decide who's a "Master"? And by what criteria is "Masterness" to be measured?!

Thanks guys. It's the brilliant sculpting that makes it look great. Keen to get some more, especially his Soldiers 54mm Romans

That's for members to decide. PF could add the possibility of giving "stars" to an item in the "completed"-forum.
Let's say 10 or so stars make an item a "masterpiece" so the painter gets the question if he his willing to reveal his techniques in a SBS.
"Likes" won't work since "liking" something is not the same as "rating" it which won't mean that a work that doesn't get stars isn't very good. It's just not a masterpiece we can learn from.
I would love to learn the techniques used by these two figures...

Mate I'm far from a master but I'll put up in the works in progress forum my next project which will be the AC Models 120mm SAS Trooper, The Falklands.
I use the pointillism technique with acrylics, that I learned from Russian master painter Roman Gruba, when he was down our way last year doing lessons.
But as I always say, you can watch and read as many tutorials as you want, but the only real way to learn is just to keep practising.

Thanks, Macca. Great!! And you are right, practise is the keyword but some techniques are just very helpfull. I'd love to know what the pointilism technique is. Never heard of it.

Basically it's a series of tiny overlapping dots.
Slight change of plan. I'll do the Ellies Miniatures 17th Light Dragoon bust, as it will be a bit easier to demonstrate in a bigger scale.
