Hello all,

This one is completed. A French legionnaire during Indochina war.
It is a conversion of an 1:35 Jaguar resin figure with a Hornet head, additional equipment and some scratchbuilding.
All is painted with AKgen3 acrylics. The groundwork is done with MS, some roots, static grass and leaves and painted with acrylics and some washes. The base 3x3 cm.
Thanks for watching.

I love it, RJ! Not only are your conversions always top notch, but this time you also depicted one of my preferred topics - French paras in the Indochina War. So thanks for taking us through your SBS and for showing your final result.

one small thing though: I think the antenna of the handie-talkie transceiver is a bit too long here, as it was just over 1 m long in the original.

Thanks Karl!
You are right, I totally miscalculated the 40 inch to centimeters and then to 35 scale. I will correct it.
I will respond to your pm later.

I missed this was the completed version of your WIP I had commented on. This turned out really well and I love the groundwork. Excellent work, especially in such a small scale.

How do you find the AK 3rd gen acrylics compared to the 2nd gen?

Thanks Nigel and Ken

I don’t know.. I never used acrylics for 15 years after some projects I did with Vallejo. But I could not get along with them so I got back on my Humbrols. By the start of this year I decided to give acrylics another try for various reasons and decided to buy the AKgen3 acrylics, also because they have those great uniform sets. I like them very much much. They are easy to work with with all kind of techniques and for nice weathering effects. And it works way faster than humbrols!

RJ
