Well, another attempt with the Apoxie...

On a recent issue of GEO I found a nice article about the aprox. six centuries of Roman Empire domination in North Africa.

Leptis Magna (in Libya) was a Roman colony (110 a.c.), reaching its magnificence during the age of Severo (193-235) - a town with more than 100.000 souls.
The 'Foro' of that city was commanded by the temple of the Severo family. The following picture is supposed to be taken from there and has been used as a reference for a new 5x5 setting (probably available with La Meridiana).

I do not think the making of accessories as a real sculpt (at least for my pieces), but sometimes, like with that mask, one can feel something different from doing the same bricks over and over...

The stones (on the road) are made with the Andrea Sculpt, which seems to have the better consistency to reproduce them.

Not finished yet, so any kind of suggestion is welcome.

Luca - that's really very nice. The mask is particularly well done! I agree with John and Mike - I just love stuff like this! I bet it was a blast to sculpt also!

Makes me remember seeing the Roman fountains and bathhouse at Bath in England years ago!

[Now how could I get something like this into a WWI diorama??]

All the best,
Dan

Thanks to all for your comments, here the finished piece, just primed.

Not a figure :( , not an exact repro of the original and a very easy subject, but at least I'm not disappointed about it like with the previous works. Hope you like it too.
