It's great to have an extended weekend when a holiday comes around. So when you're at a family picnic or just spending a lazy day around the house take a few moments to remember what the holiday is all about.

This is a pretty sad story that pretty much sums it all up. ~Gary

I would like to take this time to remember one of my Soldiers who died last August in Iraq.

SSG Stanley Reynolds from West Virginia, A Friend, Husband, a Father of three and a Proud American Soldier.

You are missed and will always be remembered!

Marc,
Thanks for that post. I have toured numerous WWII Battlefields and Cemeteries and when you see all those crosses it brings many tears. All those young lives cut short needlessly because of fanatics. Similar to what we are seeing today.
Many thanks to all of the vets out there. Lest We Forget.

Yeah, let us remember the only people who know we are at war: soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines and their families. For everyone else it is bread and circuses all day every day.

We remember those....

....who gave up all their tomorrows, so we may enjoy our todays.

Last month, we marked ANZAC day.we too remember our fallen. Well, most of us. Too many regard it as an extra day to drink too much and get all skew whiffed.

Tip of the hat to our American Brethern, and across the ditch to the NZ cousins.
And all those who fell.

While we may enjoy painting our figures, lets pause and remember what these figurines actually represent.

Lest we forget.

Jamie
