As former RASC/RCT Officer when Buller Barracks in Aldershot was named after him! All demolished now of course. Homes not affordable to Army! Iconic memories od the originial Victorian Officers Mess , no plumbing!, jug of water wake-up calls. Riding before breakfast .. 1956 .... !
New Museum at Worthy Down near Winchester now. HQ of Royal Logistic Corps and many otheys crammed in the old Fleet Air Arm Grass airfield ..........

OUR VC at Rorkes Drift was Commissary Dalton. He handed out the ammunition.

Our first VCs were at the Indian Mutiny when 2 members of the Military Train resued an n Infantry Officer. The were in a Light Cavalry Role all Military Train founded post Crimean War were recruited from our Cavalry regiments. They also fought in the Maori Way in NZ. More anon. All our medals/replicas are now on display in the new Museum of the Royal Logistics Corps.
RASC/ RCT Officers wore spurs with Blues and Mess Kit. Lost white overrall trousers AND Spurs when RLC formed.
