Hi

Many thanks for all the great comments.

Mike I knew you would have to say something daft,,,,at least it wasn't legs !!!!!!

Ernesto will post pics of the artwork which I feel is only right but here are a couple more.

The flag is in relief and you can see everything in the picture of the castings on my initial post

Lieutenant Latham suffered terrible injuries while defending the King's Colour; losing his left arm and much of his facial features. He was left for dead and was only discovered as dazed survivors of the regiment were scouring the field. He was still alive with the king's Colour hidden beneath his body. Latham was able to carry on his military career although one-armed and dis-figured. A special medal was struck for him & his face was partially repaired by a surgeon at the expense of the Prince Regent.

I think that it looks superb, especially now it's painted, and it should put to bed all those doubting Jonnas that queried the pose saying that it looked contorted. True that in the resin you don't quite get the full effect, but once painted you can see what Carl was visualising when he sculpted it. So it's a definite Yes from me.

To be honest, I must say that this bust wasn't very interesting to me (in contrast, as soon as I saw the irish bearer of the ACW, I wrote to Stu). But now that I know the History behind it, courtesy of polyphemus. I find it beautiful and a true piece of History. Congrats to all involved. :)
