Amazing example of where no expense was spent to deliver and impress. The character, the painting, etc etc - but if you pay a closer look at parts breakdown - quite a few parts were not strictly necessary to cast separately - but how amazing does this ППШ muzzle look?
It all comes together so well.

Very well done.

You can just see the fear in this paint up, the body position shows it, the blank eyes show it, the skin colour shows it. The weathering of the helmet and sweat stains down his face is just incredible. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely stunning (y)

Its just a pity there is only a "Like" button because I "Love" this piece.

Cheers,
Billy :)

Yet another reason for me to take up stamp collecting!:notworthy:

This is a very humbling sculpt. I disagree that it is "over engineered". In engineering a model one must always choose between complete detail and/or simplification for casting. Sang Eon Lee has simply chosen to go for detail. That is the path of least compromise: Quality over quantity. If that is a "bad" choice then what are we doing here - practicing compromise or trying to do our best?

Mike, I have to say that watching your work made think countless times not to turn to stamps ... but attempt to achieve just 1% of what you created! I perfectly remember, over a quarter of century ago, your hands turning plumbers seal in to the most amazing figures of the time. Your avatar is just one of many! :) The first one I remember was the artillery train driver. And luckily to all of us, so many classics appeared since them! You must be the guy in this industry with more classics created!

About this miniature it is another monumental effort created by Sang!

2014 is turning vintage - Carl Reid flags trilogy, Sang Yeoup Lee RAF Pilot, Ahn Jun Sik Damien Lewis ... and now this monument! Phew - and the year is only in half ... I wonder what is yet to come for Euro and for Christmas :)

The ONLY thing I van think of that would improve this...

A Step-by-Step tutorial on the painting process
A second on photography could not hurt, either

Every time I see one of these brilliant pieces I am torn in two:
a) I have to get this and give it my best.....
b) Who am I kidding........

Sorry for the triple post, but.....

Somebody PLEASE get this guy to do Raimius from "Hunt for Red October"
I PROMISE to buy at least one.....

As I said this is sculpting and painting perfection.
The photo that propably inspired it is by Russian photographer Shirak Karapetyan-Milshtein and is taken 2007, not 1943.
