You know, I'm thinking that the opposite of "buy me, buy me"may be true for this one.....if this piece was my period I'd admire it but never want to attempt to paint it after seeing Sang-Eon Lee's example......there may well be a situation where the marketing of a figure may be adversely affected by the superbly unattainable quality of the box and promotional art........whad ja reckon?

I see your point but don't buy it (no pun) Mark. I don't think most in this hobby are insecure enough to not buy something because they figure (no pun) they can't match the box art. If that was the case, no one would ever buy LM's products :) you could throw a coloured wash on this and still have a nice piece for the cabinet.

I think you could be right Mark.I've never been put off by a box art paint job,but this one is a different ball game.My style of painting is what I would call rustic and it's too late to change now. Before anyone says its never too late,it bloody well is.when your my.age

I'm that insecure......and yet I'm widely considered to be amongst the finest figure painters in my own mind.

This should probably be an entire thread on it's own,and sorry to Life Miniatures for throwing this in here, but I know exactly what you mean when you say "a rustic"style of painting Brian.
But the point is ..that it's not a matter of it being too late to change..the fact is it's your style and you don't have to change for anyone.
I would consider by own style as well as being 'rustic' even impressionistic at times, but I certainly don't consider it as a 'stage' on the journey to ultra photo realism.
