I just recieved the 120mm PiliPili Little Moon, and was delighted to see a 3 piece casted resin figure of a little girl with a doll held behind her back.

The kit was cast in 3 pieces with the main 2 pieces comprising the girl and a 3rd piece being the doll held behond her back.

The excellent detail Quang has sculpted into Little Moon will make her an excellent companion piece to Yellow Moon.

I have the excellent Little Moon figure, and I have Yellow Moon too ...
So now I'm looking for a very big wooden base, and a method for how to make a Crow teepee in 120mm scale ! Ah that would be a great display !! :)

A base for a Crow teepee, Yellow Moon and Little Moon..........why not a kitchen table......for to fit all in scale....you might need it to be this size. I have been to the yearly Crow gatherings and their teepee's are huge.

I'd love to paint this for my daughter. Quang did a fantastic job sculpting this. Rarely do figures of children actually look like them.~Gary

Thanks, Gary. :)

I guess it takes another fellow sculptor to see the pitfalls of a particular project.

IMO, of all subjects, children and dogs are two of the most challenging. Not because they're more complex than others but because they're so familiar that anyone can see/sense that something's wrong when the sculpt is bad.

The invaluable resource for this project is a book written by a doll artist friend of mine, Martine Brettar entitled: Kinder Anatomie in Woord en Beeld (Children Anatomy in words and pictures). It deals with the evolution of the child's anatomy from 0 to 10 years.

You can get the book at Martine's Website. Unfortunately, it only exists in Dutch. :(

... Ne t'inquietes pas mon ami - je t'apprendrai le Neerlandais avec plaisir !! :)

Guy, you may be right, and it would also be a very long project - but still, it's an idea I really have in mind, and I think it would be a spectacular display.

... Another good one (after seeing "Dances with wolves") would be converting PiLiPiLi's Kit Fox into a mounted Sioux with bow and arrow, and putting him on a base with a couple of Buffaloes ... Ah well ... :)
