local shows advance warning

Hello planeteers.

Over the last few months, and I am NOT pointing fingers or being any kind of critic(liar paul ),
I have read on a number of occasions
"I wish I had known about that one earlier"
why is there no publicity on PF about that.

Well IF you want to know what shows are on, and with few exceptions they are IPMS shows just go to:-

www.IPMS.co.uk/events.

There is a permanently updated calender of shows local to you in the UK and for other international IPMS shows too.

Not a single one of the shows people 'didn't know about' was a first timer and they are invariably held almost on the same weekend every year.
The show dates are usually confirmed 9months ahead, then they hand out leaflets at other shows for 3months before.
Take Euro for example....nearly always 3rd week September.
Take Huddersfield for example, always in February and is the second show north of Birmingham of the year.

Guys, please keep up with things by using the calenders on line and in the hobby magazines and/or join a local model club. You will be welcomed for your figure painting skills and there is somewhere to have a sit and a brew by the display....you might even enjoy it.

Our show, Stoke on Trent Model show, is hopefully going to be at this time each year from now on - it was initially difficult to pin down the venue to a regular slot, especially as it was our inaugural show last year.

It can be difficult to avoid clashes, but one thing which came from the IPMS AGM in Telford last year was a unified attempt to list all the shows as early as possible so that maximum publicity can be given and potential clashes can be avoided!

All our show publicity is posted here, on our FB page, in all the mags, on the website and on the IPMS site, so lets hope we dont miss anyone and look forward to seeing you all on Sunday!
