Wise and Sagely Figure Modelers,

I have been a modeler for a long time, and, if I do say so myself, am pretty good at it. But, I have not tackled the delicate art of figure modeling yet.

First, let me say "hello" and that I am really impressed by the work here. I have been trolling through the forums here all night just glimpsing images of work.

I am a long time member of www.starshipmodeler.com's boards and one member, Jeff, suggested I head over here with questions about my next project. Here's three of my questions from over there:

Do you all have any links to 1/35 scale zombie dioramas/figures? All I can find are the 1/48 and 1/87 scale ones.

I am going to need a few 1/35 M12 shotguns Modevery similar to these. Basic difference is there's fewer heat perforations and no hammer.

Are there 1/35 weapons sets? Squadron and ebay have been for naught.

I have another weird one for this project. What would you guys recommend for 1/35 French tombstones?

I can't put my finger on it, but the European ones just look "different" than the American ones. Verlinden has some crypts, but they're mega expensive in the numbers I am going to need. I found some 120mm ones too by various manufacturers. Too big.

I need some simple, European tombstones. French would be ideal.

Am I going to have to scratchbuild fifty-eleven European tombstones? :D

I appreciate the help. Thanks for helping a "seasoned newbie" along.

Kenny

The shotgun can be found in DML's WWII Marines set. Check Squadron's Custom Dioramics line for tombstones. Zombies will likely have to be converted and/or sculpted using something available. Warriors makes a skeleton that may be useful.

Hi,
another shotgun can also be found in a DML Vietnam Navy Seals set.
Tombstones are also different in Europe. Next to a medieval church (france has MANY medieval churches!!!) the tombstones look different to a modern cemetery (in a town like Paris for example). It depends on the "where".

Kenny, welcome to the Planet, hope you enjoy your stay.
As you can see from the replies, you have come to the right place.

Cheers

Wow! Thank you for the replies!!

I didn't even realize DML made 1/35 figures. :)

I'm a sci-fi vehicles and hardware scratchbuilder, and am quite the newbie at this stuff. I really appreciate the input.

Thanks again for the warm welcomes and sound advice.

For cheap European looking tombstones got to Micheals and look in their Holloween section,, they should be just what you're looking for, I have purchased several and with a little repainting I think they look great.

That's a great idea. I hadn't considered that.

Thanks!!
