I'm currently reading a Jackson biography for class, and he is a rather inspiring individual. Does anybody make a figure of Old Hickory? Whatever size, 54 to 120mm. Thanks

Hey Evan
Verlinden does a nice 120mm and I'm pretty sure a 54mm came out in the last 6 months or so, darned if I remember who did it. I'll be interested in what shows up since he's my favourite CSA general.
Cheers
Mark

Valiant have an Andrew Jackson figure.
You'll find it at Squadron.
Squadron Jackson listing

Those are old figures, so don't expect a 21st century casting (more like a 1970s product). They are classics though.

Thanks Andy, I'll take that one into consideration. Mark, thanks for the reply, but I think you're thinking of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. I'll let you know if I come across that 54mm.

This is a photo of the Valiant Gen Andrew Jackson at New Orleans. This is a repaint of one I did in the mid 70's and added the recent issue of the Marine from United Empires. The Jackson figure in its day was a pretty good sculpture altough not up to todays standards. But still looks pretty good and I am pleased to have him in the collection

Nicely painted figure Walt. I appreciate the responses. I'm not quite sure if I'll go for it, there's just something that doesn't suit my tastes. Not sure what it is, but it's there. You guys ever have that feeling? Maybe I'll sculpt my own in the future...

If you sculpt an Andrew Jackson in the future, here is a twist to consider. Jackson had a scar accross his face which he received as a young lad during the American Revolution. It was inflicted by a British Officer after he told Jackson to polish his boots and Jackson responded with the colonial version of "pound sand"

An interesting vignette may be the Officer with his sword held high, and little Andy staring back at him defiantly with the boots kicked over near by.

Get this out of the way, and I will then tempt you to modify one of the Metal Models 19th century ladies (the one with the turban would work best) to represent Dolly Madison directing the Marines in carrying out the painting of Geo Washington from the White House as the British were bearing down to ultimately burn it.

There are a ton of Presidential vignettes to consider. Have fun
