Hi Geoff

Catching up a bit on things ......nice uniform base , the wings/ medals coming on nicely

The Leathercoat has is looking really good ..interesting your using the white primer to bring highs out

Chris mentioned the gauntlets ....can only agree with his comments

Look forward to more from the bench

Happy painting

Nap

Thanks Nap, only trouble with oils they take some time to dry as mine are not the quick drying ones.

Yes, white primer is good for highlights like that and for tropical sand coloured uniforms where I make a very thin acrylic wash and apply about three thinned heavy coats and the paint builds up in the creases but still leaves a stain of the light colour for the highlights, saves a lot of time.

Still must get on, I have found a couple of odd heads and headgear from models that had alternate heads, etc and have been painting them up while awaiting the paint to dry, just for a bit of practice.

Bye for now
Geoff

Great progress Geoff. The leather looks very good.
When you do the final finishing of the gloves, it might help to darken or lighten them so they contrast with the coat more.

Thanks Rob, I was going by a still from BA with regard to colours but I think you are right, they were finished but I will give them a darker shade.

Cheers
Geoff

There you go Rob, added a coat of Citadel Earth Shade to the gauntlets also fixed in place the head and the holster ready for the cords and did a bit of seam lining.

Now on with the cords which are about half done.

Thanks Nap, it's called Agrax Earthshade, I also find the Nuln Oil Shade useful which is dark grey.

Cords made and just primed, will leave now to dry and have a cuppa.

Cheers

Another beauty, Geoff - I like your subdued, gradual blending of highlights & shadows, & apart from the leatherwork previously commented on above, another part that's particularly eye-catching for me is the wear & weathering on the pistol holster & Sam Browne. Superb work & looking forward to your next SBS.

Thank you so much Chris pleased that what I really enjoy doing is liked by others like yourself, all comments are gratefully appreciated.

Cheers
