A few Lord of the rings busts I've painted in the last year or so!..

Just about everything I paint I try to experiment. These were on trying to introduce atmosphere etc and playing with colours and light bit more. Experimenting throughout.

Wow, amazing. All excellent interpretations of the subject. I think you succeeded in your experiments. I like the Frodo figure and the reflection of the light of Sting on his face (maybe those nasty Orcses is near?).

There's lots to like in these, thanks for sharing.

Outstanding, like Nigel said you have certainly achieved atmosphere and mood in them, especially Saruman, he really does look the embodiment of evil. Brilliant painting.

Cheers Simon

Very nicely done, especially the Radagast bust (although I hate Jackson's interpretation of the character).
You have the start of a great looking collection. Will you be doing the rest?

Some good painting on display there. Thanks for sharing these with us.
Thanks. My pleasure. Glad you like them. Thank you.

Very nice work. Liking the subject choice.

Thanks once again Malc. Cheers buddy.

Lol thanks Nigel. Yeah definitely some orcses about we's thinkses :D

Yeah I was happy with how that reflection part turned out. The sculpt matches a still from the movie pretty much exactly
So had great reference to copy and keep it accurate as possible when painting. It was a good journery in learning a bit more about values. Kind words mate thanks.

Thanks Simon! Thanks for the feedback mate. I'm glad you like. He does have an excellent evil look about him. Christopher Lee was a great casting for the character.

Love them all.
Where did ou get the busts? Or did you sculpt them yourself?

Hi mate thanks. No sadly I didn't sculpt them myself. Would love to say I did lol but they are prints I bought on Etsy. The a person /company that does Stl files for printing is called Morana models.
Nice sculpts / facial details as you can see.
Some of the clothing texture is printed on which I wasn't crazy about.

Bilbo and Radagast are from Morana models. Saruman and Gollum I'm not sure. I bought a cheap box of random failed 3rd prints and these two were in it.
They needed a few gaps and holes smoothed out first though. Hence the failures. Ty :)

Cheers Rob. Thanks buddy!
It's a collection in photo only sadly. Somone bought Radagast and Bilbo. Gollum and Saruman I still have.

Ofc part of me is happy somone liked my stuff enough to buy and part of me wishes I kept them to build a proper collection. It is what it is I guess lol.
But the money was well spent on more hobby supplies and models to take my hobby journey further so all good.

I can always build on the Gollum and Saruman and start another collection.
Morana models do a lovely big LoTR troll id love to paint.
Perhaps the next installment!
