I love work like this, the addition of the spider has really nailed it,just a beautiful piece of work and BOS well deserved

Brilliant work! The scene setup, composition, brushwork and OSL effect are all very nicely done. Congrats on your Best of Show award. Well deserved!

Great Work Bailey! The award was totally deserved... As a fan of Tolkien work, I think you did some true inspired work.
The scene reminds me not only the Mirkwood forest of the Hobbit, but also the Frodo and Sam adventure in Mordor and with Shilob.

Regards
Pedro

Great use of paint to capture the light effects, its a credit to you that it looks so realistic. I kept looking at it to see how you achieved the colours blending to black. Great work and I'm in awe of this
Ben

This is just brilliant. Watched the progress and I think you made the right call in going with the spider.
Can't say anything that others haven't David
All I can say is I'm getting the figure and the spider and I'm going to unashamedly copy what you did in every detail :)
Cheers
Derek

Can't see any way to better this so I'll just try my best to get somewhere near as good. Tempted to try it in a box diorama and use fibre optics as a light source.
I'm just so impressed with this, it's exactly the scene that was in my minds eye when I first read the Hobbit decades ago and then in The Lord of the Rings when Frodo encounters Shelob.
