hi everyone ;)

The next MM are a grenadier guard musician, and a WW 1 belgian guide, inspired by a Maurice Orange sketch.

Both, sculpted and painted by Bruno Leibovitz

Didier :)

Didier, Thanks for posting the next releases of Metal Models. You guys just continue turning out some of the best figures on the market. Appreciate the post and the pictures. Keep them coming! PS< The Beligan Guide is my favorite, very colorful!

Best of Everything, Terry Martin

Hi

I take the pictures at Menton show (near monaco) this week-end. Thanks to Bruno

The next realeases of MM are availables at Saint Vincent (It)

That musician is very beautifully poised. He has an air about him I really like. Another for the ever-growing must-have list!
The guide's cloak is superbly well rendered.
Metal Models are have a great reputation and when Bruno puts out figures like these, it's obvious why. I'm sure we'll see plenty of these in the future.

The Belgian Guide is marvelous! Really nice sculpting on that cloak! Is that hair over one eye or a bandage? I'm serious - even blowing up the four views I can't tell for sure - probably hair, I suspect. That's my only quibble and it's a minor one.

I'd like to know more about the sketch from which the figure is taken. Would it be possible to see the picture?

All the best,
Dan

Hi Dan, it's a Bandage ;), as in the M. Orange's drawing.

Hola,

I specially like the Guide in his outfashioned uniform.

BTW, it's me or does his tunic look BLUE and not green in the picture? I know Guides had a more elaborate uniform in green - could it be the tunic in the picture is some form of "undress" in a different colour?

Dani

Dani,

All Belgian guides of that period had green, also the cloak. The red colour is 'amarant', a kind of magenta. See for that colour http://www.les-petits-belges.be/gidstrompet.html

Blue cloaks = worn by the rest of the cavalery and artillery.

The trousers: the black leather between the legs is for officers. This is a sergeant so his trousers are complete in red coton, buth still with the oval seam.

WOW !!!

Well in any case the Belgian Guide is an absolutely top priority MUST HAVE for me !

.... what a terrific figure Bruno Leibovitz did, of a favourite subject of mine ! (My father is an ex-soldier of the 2nd Guides)

Of course I already sent an order to Metal Modèles a couple of days ago :)

Yes, they had dark green tunics and amaranth red trousers in 1914. The Illustration by Maurice Orange is very good and has the details correct I believe.

I believe the Guides were originally the Belgian King's bodyguard, somewhat inspired by Napoleon's legendary Chasseurs à cheval of the Imperial Guard : hence the green colour of the uniform and the colback headdress.

I will enjoy this one immensely !!! Thank you Mr Leibovitz !!! (y)
