With the new Hornet head set with the French M51 helmet i got to thinking of the French indochina subject id like to do and was wondering if anyone could tell me if that helmet was issued to the troops fighting over there;so far all i can find is pics of French troops wearing floppy hats and the US steel pot. Anyone?
Thanks

Hi Thomas,
following your request I have searched on the net answers to your question.
Indeed, there is no much documents on that matter except pictures of the helmet M51.
I have read an short comment in the french magazine Militaria and It appears that the helmet wasn't very distributed in Indochina.
As you said the french army was used to bear the US helmet and slouch hat.
Have a nice day.
