Magnifying Visor

It has come to it that my eyes are just about knackered. Glasses work to a degree when painting, usually busts or 120mm.

So any advice on magnifying visors, best cheapest. get what you pay etc.

Also isnt it all relative, dont you magnify the brush etc.

Magnifying visor virgin!

Optivisor.... its the only good choice cus the lenses are glass and not some crap acrylic or plastic .

I would say: don't go for the cheapest.
I have mine now for 14 years or so and I bought at a optician. The magnifier is no plastic but real glass that is corrected for color.
It whas in that time not so expensive in my opinion. € 42,-
Together with good brushes it whas the best investment I have done, beside the wife that understands my needs FOR PAINTING

I tried the Optivisor, but couldn't get it to work how it thought it should. My work lamp has a build in magnifier and that works better for me.

Once you get used to them on your head like I have , I rarely take it off, I`ve fallen down the stairs a few times and had a few car crashes

Seriously though, for preference I use a tablelamp magnifier, but if you want something for intense detail, the visor drags you in and makes you concentrate.

If your eyes are deteriorating at different rates as mine are the best thing to do is to get an optician to prescribe glasses for close up work, which is what I did.
It will cost a lot more but it will be much better for your eyes than simple magnification will be over the long term....

Yeah, I'm the same Moz, I've got driving glasses, reading glasses, modelling glasses and Bourbon glasses.
The optician can prescribe glasses for working up close like 3cm from your nose if that's what you ask for, just ask for whatever distance you what to be in focus......the Bourbon glasses, once filled several times, make the other three glasses useless.
