Leather Graham. Gerard painted the full figure showing them as leather

Coming along a treat

Tommi

Thanks Tommi, I was looking at the full figure for reference. Wasn't sure if it was leather or rusty metal. Does that include the bobbles on his hood?

Any chance the full figure picture could be put here ...bit of inspiration for me !!!!

Bit of work done on the chain mail and leather, still a bit more to do. Main gauntlets will be done when hands holding the nasty looking axe have been fitted so they blend properly.

Next up is the red and white.

That’s it for today on this one. I am well aware of my limited experience and skills is far below the great painters on here but I really do think I have learned so much painting this superb bust. Using tubes of artist acrylic has vastly helped me to consider mixing colours and it is almost becoming intuitive to do that. All I need to do now is keep practicing and refining what I am learning from you guys (y)

The helmet isn’t fixed on and looks a bit odd. Tomorrow I will start on the weapon blade and paint the gauntlets.

Thanks a Kev, I am loving the bench time lol.

I forgot to mention the shield. That is on today’s ‘to do’ list. I will probably do it much as the full figure pic but without the star thing, no way I could paint that but might add a small white cross instead, will see how it goes.

I like the built in pedastle too. I have chopped a little bit off as it is quite long which is good as it gives you the option to drill into a base to set the height.

Becoming a bit of a fan of this scale, already got two more 1/16 busts to do :)

Hi Graham

Good to hear ..I am the same at the bench !

Need to sort reviews out as well !!

Looking forward to the shield

Apparently Tommi has another like this , medieval so looking forward to paying for that !

Happy benchtime

Another in the making or already available? Mustn’t miss that one (y)

The helmet is finished and attached as is the, very nasty looking, blade of the main weapon. Gauntlets are painted up and work has started on the shield. This is going quite smoothly so far :)

Well..... I have some sad news about this one.....

It is finished! I have enjoyed working on it so much, I really didn’t want the fun to end.....

Just waiting for the varnish to dry and I will be taking some snaps for the completed figure Forum.

Seriously though, if anyone has bought this and just added it to the GA, dig it out. It is a superb bust and a delight to paint. Really looking forward to seeing someone show me how it should have been done (y)
