Hi Marc,

WOW!! What a good painting job you have done with your figurine. Love the base - come on tell us how you did it. The shield look really good.

Kindest regards.

Oke Donald here it comes,

The base is bought by my friend Gino Poppe.
Next i picked up on the beach a really dry piece of wood. I pinned the figure with two paperclips.
Then i outlined the figure so he really stands right up with his feet on the tree trunk.
Next i made from plastic card borders about 2 cm high. Fixed it around the base.
Next step is fill the space in these plastic borders with plaster of paris.
The next stap is place your figure into his place. Then when the plaster is dry i put out my Tamiya paints left over from my AFV period and painting as much colours as i had over the plaster of paris.
When dry, with white glue i glued some railroadgrass from Noch (comes on a kind of tapistry) and paint this in several greens and browns.
Then i put on with white glue some leaves (it was a gift from RobH on Euro and i wanted a kilo of that stuff) and let it dry.
Thats it.

Hi Marc,

Thank you very much indeed - very much appreciated. It was very nice of you to spare the time to tell me how you went about building your base - again thanks a lot - I'm off to the beach.

Kindest regards - have a nice day.
;)

Hi Marc

Just caught up with this one. You have made a first class job of this guy and it is noticeable how much your painting is improving from figure to figure. This has certainly inspired me to start my version.

Good to meet you at Euro, and thanks for the beer - boy that was good stuff!

What's next?

Cheers

Phil

Phil,

It was great to meet you at Euro. You wouldn't disappoint by this figure, and i am absolutely sure that your version becomes better than mine.
For the beer: i hope to see you next year on the weekend from 4 and 5 march in Antwerp to the AMSS show. Then whe share some great Belgium Beers. I know a couple off taste's that you surely like

Marc

Hello Guys,

After putting the Marcomanni on MedRom forum i am convinsed that the shield has to look used. Looking an thinking it over about one week i gave it a try.
I must commit that it looks better than the first shield.
What do you think??

Sorry for the pictures that they look somewhat strange. It is the angle how the picture was taken.

Marc

Thanks Frank,

It is the comments of the "old guys" that is worth it. They have alot off experience. So thanks.
Euro was fun, but you missed that beer that i kept for you. Finally i drink it myself.

Marc.
