Hi Bill ! I think the figure is from the set released by Gunze Sangyo entitled "Letter From Home-set 2". The master is by that doiyan of fugure sculpting,Yoshitaka Hirano. An excellent piece !
Kenneth.
Hi Bill and Kenneth.
Yes,the figure comes from the capable hands of mr.Hirano, sold under Gunze label.
I've changed the head for another one from Hornet. The original head was wonderful but I changed it because I needed a Whermatch late war cap
interesting to see the first of these two with the early stages of highlighting only. I can see your brush strokes!! That all seems to disappear on the completed figure. How do you do that!
I know you're a 'Vallejo' man, but do you do anything specific to blend the final piece? Very vague question I know!
I would love a phonetic spelling of your name. I guess it's the Obsessive Compulsive disorder kicking in. Is it pronounced with a J sound or an H sound. Forgive my ignorance.
Rob.Usually I start painting the base colour and doing two or three rude highlights and shadows.
Then,I blend these with intermediate tones and a lot of patience
As you can see in the pic,I've done three highlights and two shadows.I'll post a pic with the blending tomorrow
Pete.Gracias por el comentario.Estoy preparando un artÃculo sobre la pintura de camuflajes alemanes para dentro de muy poco.
Jaume, beautiful work on the figures How many intermediate tones do you use to blend your flesh areas with Your comments on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and cheers !
Kenneth
Thanks for your response.
When you say blend, do you mean thin washes? or is there any wet-wet blending?
BTW, for my german I used your article on field grey. As my man was in the depths of winter stalingrad, I've used a pale blue and white for my highlight mix with the field grey, to keep the 'cool' feel of his conditions.
