Another Marechal to join my Napoleonic collection from Matt at El Greco

This one is of Jean-Baptiste Bessieres, 1st Duke of Istria (6 August 1768 – 1 May 1813) sadly he was killed by a cannonball which ricocheted off a wall and hit him in the chest.

Nice to see he is wearing a green jacket which makes a change from the dark blue.

After the usual prep and priming I started on the head with acrylic eyes and the rest in Artist's oils. The hair will be given the white highlights later.

Base colour started to be blocked in using Vallejo acrylics,

That's it for today.

Cheers and stay safe

These 'Napoleon's Marshalls & Generals' series of busts are a 'classic' range of kits for the future if ever I saw one. They are fabulous in all respect and look magnificent once painted.

I look forward to seeing this finished Geoff.

Hi Geoff

Again a really nice start on what's going to be part of a excellent display .....you just have to decide what on you going to do next ...lol

As Gary says a classic range ...all would look wonderful together

Fleshtones look nice and it's good that he has that hair style ...and the green uniform is certainly eyecatching

Following with interest

Happy benchtime

Stay safe

Very nice start Geoff. It's a really nice sculpture and I'm curious how you can deal with it. Good luck and fun with painting, I'm watching :)

Cheers Borek :)

Many thanks Guys pleased you like him, I seem to have cut down my working time down to less than four hours most days so I shall not be that fast at finishing them.

Stay safe Guys
