Here is a new miniature sculpted by Vladimir Danilov. Scale:1/24 (75mm).
Hope you like it.

Hi Alex,

Lovely sculpture... however, the plaid over the left shoulder is wrong. The plaid should hang down the back of the figure... with the bottom either aligned with the bottom of the kilt or hanging down to approximately knee level. The front of the plaid, held in place by the broach should only extend to the upper chest.

Apologies for the late commentary.

James

Hi James,
Please do not apologize. Nobody can know everything, and it is a great thing that we can learn from each other.
Let me play the role of devil's advocate. I will post few pictures and you can tell me if what the sculptor did were possible?
Thank you.
Alex

Hi Alex,

I can see and understand where you are coming from. However, admit my comment re the plaid at the front may be more correct for the more up to date way of wearing the plaid. Though saying that in all the photos / images you posted the plaid is hanging down the back / pulled around over the left shoulder.

Am guessing from the sporran and uniform that the figure is Napoleonic. If that is the case, the plaid will have been mostly ceremonial / cosmetic.

Have attached a couple of pictures to show you what I mean.

Kind regards,

James

Hello! This figure corresponds to the period of the Crimean War or only for Napoleonic war?

Another stunning addition to the dogs series and a wonderful, informative and civilised discussion on uniformological detail.Congrats to all for their conduct. This is what a forum should be,in my humble opinion:full of knowledge, inspiration and well intended people.

Oda.
