Marshal of the Empire Louis-Nicolas Davout, nicknamed "The Iron Marshal". Figure from Atelier Maket, 75mm.
Was a great pleasure to paint this figure. It is one of my favorite marshals of the first French empire.
Hope you'll like it.
Your feedback is always very welcome.
Cheers,
Zeno :)

Hi Zeno

Great to see your art and whst a lovely figure particularly impressed with the uniform blue and the intricate lacework

What did you use for the golds ?

Don't forget FOTM entry and of course we have a new version from January

We will still continue to run a Vignettes & Diorama comp as well twice yearly

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Thanks Nap! It's much appreciated!

For gold broidery and lacework I'm using NMM. The colors used are from Vallejo Game colors: Heavy Brown 72.153; Heavy Gold Brown 72.151; Dead White 72.001; Sepia Ink 72.091
For pieces manufactured from metal with a gold or bras finish I use metallic colors. In this case I used Dark Star Imperial gold mixed with burnt umber for the base. Mid tones are pure imperial gold and highlights are with gold printers ink.
Hope it helps.

Cheers,
Zeno :)
