Depicting the final stand and eventual massacre of the IX (9th) Legion (Vexillatio) by combined forces of the Iceni warriors, led by Boudicca. Set in 1st Century Roman Britain, near modern Colchester.

Thank you, I grew up reading comics like Charley’s War, the best anti war images are those that depict its true reality. With poetry that always resonates whenever I’m making a war scene, one of my favourites being by Alan Seeger “I have a rendezvous with death.” Poignant for this scene.
