Hi to all. Is there any info regarding the present circumstances of Maurice Corry and his 120mm range of figures?

I have bought several off him in the past via ebay but his page has not shown any activity for several weeks now.

Is he ok? Hope you are and that you are just taking a break for a bit :)

Best regards

Måk

There was something posted about this a while ago.
There was something with delays and a divorce.

Do you have any link for his website. Im interested in the Black Watch Figure.

Between, how did you come up with the "å" in Måk? :D

Cheers

... Well ... I have a figure on order since October 28 2007, and still haven't seen it....
At first I felt pity for Corry - indeed, up till then he had been kind and correct, although somewhat slow in sending out my orders. And I believed in him, and defended him then on this very same forum I recall.

.... Seems that I was a lousy judge of character back then :( ...

I hate to break this to you, but from what I have heard on other forums and via pm's and e-mails that I received, it seems that there is little chance that you and I will ever receive the orders we paid this man for ...

I admit he is a very good sculptor, and I still think his two Falkland war figures are outstanding (they were done for the 25th anniversary of this conflict), but I won't buy anything directly from him again - only through a retailer; maybe I will not even buy anything whatsoever that is sculpted by him anymore, as there is, to my personal feeling, a certain odium attached to his creations because of this situation....

Face the facts : he does not reply to any communications. And when confronted with fellow hobbyists that know him personally, he is evasive to the point of outright telling pathetic lies....

... He's skipped town ...

Gentlemen, if you have any further discussions regarding Maurice Corry, I urge you to do it by e-mail or private messaging.
This is not the proper place to discuss such matters.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation, happy painting.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about Mr Corry's troubles. Regarding his kits and service i have always received them in good time and order and there is nothing outstanding on order. I just wish i had bought one or two of his other figures when i had the chance.

Janne - as for the "å" in Måk - a night on the town with Cafferys ale , a desire to come up with a nickname for the Combat Mission games forum ( Måkjager ) , some convulted Irish thought and access to a apple mac computer! ( ps... well the Vikings did found the town of Dublin back in 1088 hence the Scando influence ;) )

Best regards to all.

Thanks for the info, Paul!

As a sidenote its mentioned that the Irish gals liked the Vikings as they were know to comb their beard often and wash themselves at least one day of the week. Saturday that is, which still means washing-day in old Swedish. ;)

Cheers

Legend.....

has it Janne that the Vikings liked them so well that they took all the best looking ones to Iceland  ;)

Roc, I've been quiet about this since I've done no business with or even know
the man. But the way I see it is this way. Planetfigure is a community of
eclectic hobbiest who pay a considerable amount of money to appease their varied appetites. If there are grounds for legitimate complaints about a dealer, Manufacturer et al....then those complaints should be openly stated here in this Forum as a service to any who may in the future unknowingly run afoul of a bad egg.
Denying the right to legitimately complain about what seems to be a major and costly situation is a disservice to all in this community.

Well, to make things clear : the reason why I explained the situation I have with Corry, is twofold :
1) I want to vent some of my frustration with this whole affair in this forum community where I hope to find like minded people - modellers and figure painters; and believe me, Corry's attitude of ignoring his customers and never reacting is VERY frustrating and makes one angry; I can understand that people say they'll slam his ass.
2) I also want to tell others what my experience was, and what a bad egg Maurice Corry is, so that the same thing won't happen to them in the future. In any case, I'll never buy another figure from this guy - Maurice Corry is blacklisted for me.

Hope

Chris you are right , Maurice was a mate of mine too . He has a few kits belonging to me i would like back. Another friend of his his very disgruntled too . I guess youknow who i am talking about !

Are forums just for the good stuff then ROC . Would younot like to know beforehand if there was a chance someone was gonna rip you off. Surely the definition of a forum is discussion either good or bad. No one is tainting Maurice reputattion here with the exception of Maurice himelf.
