Gordy,
I am dedicating a chapter called , â€Painting the Face “to Maximus, in my book called “The Art of Painting Miniatures; Faces & Figuresâ€, Because he is large enough for my readers to see details on how things are done,
in particularly, his mouth allows me to demonstrate my mouth and teeth techniques!

My book from Compendium Publishers, London, is due out around April. Gordy I would like to arrange with Planet Figure to get signed copies to the members. Is this possible.

Thanks again
Alex

P.S. Thank for your support in the past. My book will have quotes of the Who’s Who’ in the Miniature industry on the back!!

As always ,
good to hear from you Roc !
any project in mind ,let me know what you are up to !

Thanks
Alex

Gordy,
I am dedicating a chapter called , â€Painting the Face “to Maximums, in my book called “The Art of Painting Miniatures; Faces & Figuresâ€, Because he is large enough for my readers to see details on how things are done,
And impartially his mouth allows me to demonstrate my mouth and teeth techniques!

(y) The teeth are absolutley life-like and have that "ivory-translucency".

My book from Compendium Publishers, London, is due out around April, Gordy I would like to arrangement with Planet Figure to get singed copies to the members?

We would be more than grateful to assist, contact Guy or I and we can hammer out the logistics/details..

Alex,
I'm working on the Duke of Marlborough.I'ts a beautifully sculpted figure produced by Ceremonial studios many years ago and no longer in production.

Excellent!

How did you get that "red eye" look?

Gordy beat me to the punch on the teeth comment as that was the first thing I noticed, too!

Cool!

system of opposition

Grody,and Keith,

At the heart of my skin tones are my gum tones; from these gum tones I build my flesh tones that I use as well for internal organs. However, when it comes to the teeth I use a system of opposition i.e. I paint the gum with acrylics and the teeth with enamel, stroking it and applying it as nail polish is applied. I also use the gum tone as a separator between the individual teeth. Because of the different mediums I can clean one without disturbing the other. In the book I cover the gum tones in the Formula section.

Happy Painting
Alex

Alex,
My digital camera is broken, shopping around for a new camera. As soon I get my new camera I'll be glad to post a few pictures.

I'm looking forward to purchasing an autographed copy of your book,I'll be learning a lot from it,I'm sure.

I concur with Gordy the teeth on Maximus are definitely life-like,you got the magic formula my friend.

Thanks for posting your work, greatly appreciated.
Keep those brushes wet and keep them coming.
Roc.

Now you see. That's quite good. Very well done and now I know, Compendium books. How did you get the eyes done? (If you answered already sorry, I've had 8 glasses of sangria this evening). THat is really quite good. What is the scale? (again, if I repeat shoot me, I've drank enough to kill a troll)
