I painted this bust during a recent workshop with Ivan Hortal. The majority of the figure was painted over two days and I finished the rest (hair, leather, and touch ups) the week after. It was a really good class and I got a lot of great info on working with textures on cloth, fur, and metal. The bust was sculpted by Lucas Pina Penichet (Spiramirabilis) and is an exclusive piece for Ivan's classes. I really enjoyed both the class and the bust and this was by far the fastest I've completed a figure in quite a long time!

Great paintwork on a wonderful, unique bust. Got to love the character in the face, especially that nose, looks like he may have played prop in his youth.

I'm not too fussed about the bust itself, but the painting is absolutely fantastic in all respects. Lovely work and especially so with the textures effects.

Gold!

Hi Bailey

Great to see you posting , this looks to be very much a painters bust and you’ve really brought it out , liking the fleshtones and the NMM

Why not look at supporting the competitions

Do hope we will see more from you

Hi David
Looks lovely artwork & can see evolution of your style here.
I’m liking lighting, especially flesh tone work. Something I’ve appreciate in your other projects.
Intrigued to learn some more about how Ivan’s lesson help improve your productivity i.e. speed & quality?
Please do share your experience & reflections.

That's tremendous mate. Love it.

The second I seen it I thought that looks like something Lucas Pina sculpted

Would love to hit a workshop weekend thingy. Saving for Monte San savino though!

Fine work Bailey! Very clean. Beautiful textures and tones.
