Hello everybody! Here I am with a new bust that I made during this summer. It is about a new release of Michael Miniatures company and it will come out on the market in late october 2008.This figure represents a captain of the Mexican Palace Guard during the reign of Emperor Maximilian who in January 1865 founded a new order known as Order of the Mexican Eagle. So it's my pleasure to show you here the process of working with some explinations. The materials I used were Milliput,Magic Sculp,SuperSculpey and Greenstuff.

At first I established the proportions as long as the bust had to be made at 1/9 scale.I gathered the elements I needed (a head at 1/9 scale,an eagle from another miniature and a mount). The pictures bellow are just a fiction for me to have an idea how it will look the entire figure.

After that I fixed the expresion of the face and started with the eagle.
At this step I've moulded just a basic anathomy, the Sculpey part is still soft.

I'll be back as soon as I can with the next phase.
Greetings

Hello again!Following the process,on the next step I was more concerned about the eagle of the helmet and I made the first aplications for the beard starting with the whiskers. In this phase you can observe that I fixed the composition, the atitude of the figure and so I stoved the Sculpey part. From now on the cup of the helmet is made by Milliput and it goes separately the same like the eagle which is a single piece too.The chest and shoulders are more defined.See you next step!

Oh what a fine and clear and clean work on a character! Nicely done!
Great portrait, excellent SBS photos.

Hello everybody!
Thank you for your attention to this thread. For the next I have to tell you that there were the great renaissantist artists that inspired me and I'll add the photos of their masterpieces.
I'm talking about Leonardo da Vinci with a drawing:" Bust of a warrior in profile "(a silverpoint drawing) and the portrait
of the well-known Michaelangelo´s Moses.

Returning to the process,in the following phase,as you can see,I defined the form of the coat with another aplication of SuperSculpey and I started to make the decorations of the uniform upon a
previous drawing. To make it symetrically I used transparent paper and just flipped it horizontally as a software of graphic-design would say too_Of course I went further with other details such as the front decorations of the helmet the decorations on the shoulders or the strap of the helmet which goes separately.

greetings!

he certaintly doesn't look happy does he?

Awesome bust. Would love one as well :-P But I better finish my others first ;-)

keep up the great work. Its perfection!

I think your work has a great likeness with the classical sculpts. It's much better as a normal figure or bust from the historical miniatures area.
This face is perfect, just perfect...

Cheers,
Balázs
